RECAP: Richardson sets PR in 100 at Texas Relays

AUSTIN – UT Tyler sophomore Zach Richardson ran a personal best 100-meter dash time and finished fifth in his heat on Friday at the 90th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, presented by Spectrum this week at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Richardson ran a 10.96 to establish a new personal best and finished 90th overall in the event. He did not advance to the finals. A Waxahachie native, previous best time in the 100 is 11.35 which came last season at the Texas A&M-Commerce meet.

Georgia’s Kendal Williams ran a 10.06 for the top time of the first round, while Southern California’s Just’N Thymes was at 10.14 and BYU’s Tatenda Tsumba ran a 10.19 for the third best time of the 100-meter dash round.

Richardson will continue his season next weekend at the SFA Skechers Carl Knight Invitational on April 7-8 in Nacogdoches.
