TYLER – The UT Tyler Track & Field program will host the East Texas Prairie Dog Relays on Friday at Grace Community School for its first Outdoor meet of the season. The UT Tyler Indoor Track & Field team will compete at the Texas A&M Aggie Twilight meet on Saturday.
The Patriots have competed in four Indoor meets leading into the first of two home events this season. UT Tyler will also host the Marc Randle Classic on Friday, March 3 at The Brook Hill School in Bullard. Below is a schedule of events at Friday’s meet at Grace Community.
UT Tyler will be represented on the men’s side in eight events. In the 1,500 meters, Shafen Borah, Quinton Bryson, Conor Linekin, Erik Sanchez, Dylan Stegall and Jackson Wascheck will be competing, while Daniel Juren will run the 300 meter hurdles. There will be three relays during the day including the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relay. Klayton Kent will compete in the high jump, Matthew Roe and Austin Warren in the shot put and the Matthew Roe and Austin Warren in discus. The women’s team will compete in nine events on Friday. Rachel Willis will run the 1,500 meters, while Michaela Heys is in the 300 meter hurdles. In field events, Whitney Simmons and Emma Snyder will compete in the discus and Snyder and Sydney Makowski are in the shot put and Diana Wilde will be in the long jump event. The team will compete in four relays with Goudeau, Hawkins, Wilde and Salem in the 4x100, Kissinger, Pruett, Smith and Goudeau in the 4x400, the 4x800 of Smith, Pruett, Kissinger and Pierce and the 4,000 distance relay team of Pierce, Smith, Heys and Willis.
