Saturday, January 28, 2017

BOSTON – UT Tyler sophomore Logan Houser had himself a day at the Boston University Terrier Invitational by establishing a new program record in the 400 meter and a personal best in the 800 on Saturday.

Houser, a sophomore from Waxahachie, opened the indoor meet by running a 1:58. 47 in the 800 for the second fastest time in program history. His time in Boston is only behind Ford Noack who ran a 1:52.92 at Boston University in 2015. Houser would add to his day by breaking the UT Tyler 400-meter record by running a 50.55. His time topped the previous record held by Jake Davidson who ran a 51.41 in Alabama last year.

While Houser broke the record, a pair of his teammates were right behind him and also broke the record. Ricky Hall ran a 50.56 in the event for the second fastest time in program history and Zach Richardson a 51.01.

UT Tyler will be away from competition next weekend before competing at the Indoor Track & Field Classic which will be hosted at the Ford Center in The Star on Feb. 9-10 in Frisco.
