Patriots In Second After First Day of ASC Meet
CLINTON, Miss. - Three Patriot men took home gold on the first day of the American Southwest Conference Track and Field Championships, hosted by Mississippi College at the Jim Parkman Track at Robinson Hale Stadium.

UT Tyler scored 88 points on opening day, only two behind the top ranked team in the nation, McMurry.

Tanner Conkel cleared 6'6" for the victory in the high jump. His season best of 6'9.75" is currently tied for third in the national rankings.

Senior Chris Stonestreet was only nine inches of the ASC hammer throw record with his hurl of 55.21 meters for first.

The throwing duo of Buck Thompson and Stonestreet took second and third in the shotput competition.

The Patriot men pulled of the sweep in the 3000 meter steeple. Jacob Waddingham won in a time of 10:08, Nicklas Huff was second and Will Krogman had a strong finish for third.

In the long jump competition, Chris Kearny and Joel Hunt both made finals. They finished sixth and eighth respectively. 

Ross Renfroe took home second place and Kyle Clawson was fourth in the 10,000 meter run, the final event of the evening.

Joncary Faubion, Cody White, CJ Korman and Derek Blain also scored points for the Patriots.

For the women, Sarah Hankla took third in the 10,000 meter run and Baylee Talaska also contributed with a scoring performance.
