TYLER – The decorated career of UT Tyler tennis great Arthur Fagundes now includes Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division III honors after he was selected for the award that highlights success in competition and classroom.

A Brazil native, Fagundes is a Civil Engineering major who has a 3.96 GPA while also earning ITA All-America honors as a singles and doubles player this season. Fagundes is a three-time All-American for the Patriots and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection last year before earning third-team All-America honors this season.

Along with his national awards, Fagundes was named the American Southwest Conference East Division MVP for the second straight season and led the Patriots to the 10th conference title in program history.

Fagundes is the only UT Tyler student-athlete to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors this season and the only American Southwest Conference student-athlete on the at-large team.

The Division III Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 Division III Academic All-America® teams.
