UT TYLER QUOTES

DANIEL BUDD
“It's nice to be going in as the favorite to win the tournament. We have done extremely well against our conference opponents this year and going into the tournament I hope we can keep our play up. It's important we get off to a 3-0 lead after doubles in the first few matches to keep our energy high for the finals. If we keep our energy high I think we have a great chance of winning the tournament. After starting off the season with being awarded ASC player of the week it went down hill for a while. But I think I will be able to pick my play up in the post season and help lead our team to a third consecutive ASC championship.”

ARTHUR FAGUNDES
“The ASC Tournament will be a great opportunity for us to show how we have improved over the season. The whole team has been working very hard, and everybody is looking forward the ASC Title. I am very focused and I am sure that I will play in a high level during this tournament, together with my doubles partner Frankie Fischer.”

FRANKIE FISCHER
“Looking forward to the road trip. Traveling to play tennis matches always brings out a camaraderie in the teams that I've played on that is hard to beat. We all believe we are going to win the ASC tournament so we just need to relax and play the kind of tennis that we know we are capable of. I've been getting better and better as the season has progressed. I think half of that is due to getting into the competitive groove again and the other half is working with the coaches, who have been facilitating progressively better practices for me and the whole team.  You don't talk a lot about the development of a coaching game because the players are all very young and their improvement is exponential, but it's a special place in Tyler where the coaches are open to change and are constantly seeking to improve themselves and ultimately our team.”

PABLO GOMEZ
“This is my first ASC tournament, so I am looking forward to the competition and being able to share such a great experience with my teammates. We have been practicing a lot this season, and we are ready to see some good results. I think that each of us has to remember all the advice that the coaches have given us throughout the semester and be able to use it. My doubles partner, Joey Fischer, and I have developed a very strong relationship on and off the court. We played really good doubles this year, and I hope we can keep it going throughout the post-season.”

JOSE McINTYRE
“This is going to be my first time playing at the ASC tournament and I can't wait for that moment. Throughout the season we have been working extremely hard on and off the court for this opportunity. Also, I believe that our team has the best team chemistry out there and we have each other's backs which makes us strong has a group. Finally, over the last couple of months my partner Daniel Budd and I have been working extremely hard for this very specific moment and now we are going to show everyone that our hard work pays off.”
