BELTON – The UT Tyler men’s soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Mary-Hardin Baylor on Saturday at the Cru Soccer Field to snap a three-game winning streak to start American Southwest Conference play.

The Patriots (4-2-2, 3-1) were held scoreless for just the second time this season as they dropped their first conference game of the 2017 campaign. Leandro Cid-Fernandez led the Patriots in shots with two on the night, although none were on goal for UT Tyler.

In the 42nd minute, the Cru (7-1, 4-0) got on the board just before the half with a goal from Jose Rodriguez off an assist by Johan Cederlund. The momentum continued into the second half with a goal coming just three minutes into the frame with a goal by Caleb Vandergriff off his head.

UT Tyler will return home on Thursday, September 28 against Hardin-Simmons with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.
