TACOMA, Wash. – The UT Tyler men’s soccer team played to a scoreless draw against Pacific Lutheran on Friday at East Field.

The Patriots (1-0-2) have now tied in back-to-back games after opening the season with a 1-0 win over No. 7-ranked Redlands. UT Tyler will return to action at 6 p.m. on Saturday against Puget Sound.

John McGuffin made two saves for the Patriots in the game with PLU being limited to one shot in regulation before having one in the first overtime session.

Leandro Cid-Fernandez led the Patriots with four shots in the game with one on goal, while Caio Godinho had one shot on goal to account for the two for the Patriots. Eric Robles added two shots and Alfonso Ochoa, Ryan Brinda, Chris Stamm and Jonathan Castillo added one more.

UT Tyler will return from its Washington road trip and open American Southwest Conference play and its home schedule on Thursday against UT Dallas and then against Howard Payne on Saturday.
