TYLER -- The UT Tyler men’s and women’s soccer teams have announced their 2012 season schedules, with both teams scheduled for 17 regular season games between late August and late October.

Under eight-year head coach Stefani Webb, the Patriots’ women will begin the season on the road with an Aug. 31 match at Hendrix in Conway, Ark., followed by a Sept. 3 game at LSU-Shreveport.

Their first home games are set for Sept. 7 and 9, hosting Trinity and Southwestern, respectively, at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.

The American Southwest Conference schedule for the women begins on Sept. 13 against East Texas Baptist in Marshall.

The Patriots were 10-6-3 last season and advanced to the ASC Championship Tournament.

The UT Tyler men, who last year made a run all the way to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championships, will also begin their campaign on the road with a trip to San Antonio to face perennial NCAA foe Trinity (Aug. 31), and Georgetown to meet Southwestern (Sept. 3).

Like the women, their first home game is scheduled for Sept. 7 when they will face Northwood at 5 p.m.

The men also open ASC play Sept. 13 at East Texas Baptist.

Head coach Kenny Jones and the Patriots’ men were 18-3-2 during the 2011 season. Jones is entering his 11th season at the helm of the program whose all-time record is 156-63-23
