The University of Texas at Tyler
men’s soccer team will hold tryouts for enrolled students who desire to
participate in intercollegiate soccer during the 2012-2013 season.
There will be an organizational meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, in the
PHE Building (Room 110) for all individuals interested in trying out for the UT
Tyler men’s soccer team. The tryout date will be the following day after the
meeting, Tuesday, Aug. 21, with the time to be announced at the meeting.
- All students who wish to participate in this tryout
must be currently enrolled full-time at UT Tyler and in good academic
standing per NCAA rules.
- Those athletes trying out will need to bring a
completed Pre-Participation Physician Evaluation Form with them signed by a
physician -- no chiropractors. Athletes must have valid health insurance
that does not exclude athletic activities and meets or exceeds the $25,000
maximum benefit. Athletes that do not meet this requirement will not be
allowed to try out. All forms can be found on our website at www.uttylerpatriots.com/compliance
- Please contact UT Tyler’s athletic trainer at (903)
565-5545 for information on the necessary paperwork. All students who try
out must first be cleared for participation by the athletic trainer prior
to the tryout date.
At the tryouts, all participants
must wear proper soccer attire, including shingaurds and shoes. Participants
will need to present their student ID card at the tryout registration.
Please note that this tryout is an opportunity to be evaluated by the UT Tyler
coaching staff and participation does not guarantee any level of activity in
the program for the 2010-2011 school year.
All participants are expected to be
physically fit enough to play an entire 90-minute collegiate soccer game.
If you have any questions, please
