Hill shoots 1-under to lead @UTTylerMensGolf on Day 1 in Florida

SANDESTIN, Fla. – UT Tyler senior Sam Hill shot a 1-under-par 70 and is in 10th place after the first of three rounds of the Golfweek Fall Invitational at the Raven Golf Club.

The No. 1-ranked Patriots are currently 11th in the 16-team tournament after a team total of 293 on Sunday, while Concordia leads the tournament with a 280 followed by St. Thomas (284), Guilford College (286), Huntingdon (287) and Illinois Wesleyan (288) in the top-5. The second round of the tournament is scheduled for Monday before Tuesday’s final 18 to complete the 54-hole event.

George Toone opened the tournament with a 73 (2-over) which puts him tied for 30th, while Tyler Uhlig and Trystan Perkins both shot 75 and DJ Godoy an 81 on Sunday. Hill, who has top-10 finishes in each of the first three tournaments this fall, had five birdies in his opening round.

Conner O’Neil (Illinois Wesleyan) and Pete Sienko (St. Thomas) lead the tournament after carding 67s on Sunday for rounds of 4-under par.
