TYLER -- The UT Tyler men's and women's golf teams are ranked No. 7 and No. 11 respectively in the Golfstat NCAA National Rankings.  Both teams are coming off first-place finishes in the Al Jones Memorial Tournament held at The Cascades in Tyler.

The men, who finished last season as the No. 6 ranked team in the country, are ranked behind schools such as California Lutheran, Southwestern in Georgetown, and last season's national champion Oglethorpe who sits in fourth place. 

For the women, the No. 11 ranking comes after finishing first last weekend in Tyler, and a second-place finish at the Paris Community College Tournament last month.  

The ladies will be back-in-action on October 7 at the Birmingham Southern Invite in Alabama, while the men's team will head to the Golfweek Invitational in Sandestin, Fla. on October 14, the site of the 2013 National Championship.
