TYLER -- The UT Tyler men's golf team shot a combined 585 (288-297) and maintained a comfortable lead throughout the tournament en route to the team title at the Al Jones Memorial Invitational played Monday and Tuesday at the Cascades Country Club.

Jacob Walsh led the Patriots, firing a 1-over 143 (68-75) for the two rounds to finish second overall. His first round 68 tied for the lowest round of the invitational. 

Teammate John Dukes was one stroke back in the final standings with a third-place 144 (74-70) finish. Dukes' 2-under 70 on the final round was the day's best score. 

Patriots Austin Quentin and Trent Boudoin also finished in the top ten, tying for eighth place at a 6-over 148.

In the team standings, Emory was in second place with a 601, followed by Schreiner at 604. Schreiner's Cheyne Kendall was the top individual with a 1-under 141 (70-71).

The tournament win was UT Tyler's second this season, coming off a first place finish at the Rhodes Invitational on Sept. 17-18.

Later this week, the Patriots will head to Sandestin, Fla., for the Golfweek Invitational.
