Donnan Runs Wild For New UT Tyler Record

Ben Donnan led the charge for a top-three sweep for the University of Texas at Tyler, as the Paris sophomore won the UT Tyler Invitational with a new school-record time of 26:07.

The Patriots men's team took the top three places in the 8K race, with Warren Brown (SO/Lindale HS) finishing 2nd with a time of 26:34, and former record-holder R.J. Cowan (JR/Whitehouse HS) 3rd with a time of 26:41.

Corey Kellam (JR/Oldham County HS) and Chauncey Deller (JR/Longview HS) finished 7th and 8th, both with a time of 27:15. The Patriots had five of the top eight runners.

UT Tyler dominated the meet with 21 points, far ahead of second-place McMurry's 68 points and third-place Northwood's 94 points.

Charity Bolling (SR/Stephenville HS) was the top Patriot finisher in the women's 6K, finishing 18th with a 26:07. Lindsay Deal (SO/Flower Mound HS) was 23rd with a time of 26:44, and Joanna Beers (SO/Hughes Springs HS) was 28th, finishing with a time of 27:14.

The women's team finished fifth of nine teams entered. Northwood won the women's meet, and Dallas Baptist University's Lacey Morrison finished first with a time of 23:35.

Both Patriot teams will race at Dallas Baptist next weekend.
