After three straight weeks of winning races, The University of Texas at Tyler men's Cross Country team is drawing attention from the statewide polls.
The Patriots are ranked #4 in the Texas Rankings, according to TXRunning.com. This poll is of all schools in the state regardless of size or division. UT Tyler is ranked above Division I school Texas Christian University (#6), and Division II schools such as Abilene Christian (#5), UT San Antonio (#8), and Stephen F. Austin (#13).
In addition, three UT Tyler runners are in the statewide Top 25. Ben Donnan (SO/Paris, TX) is 13th, Warren Brown (SO/Lindale, TX) is 21st, and R.J. Cowan (JR/Whitehouse, TX) is 25th. All three runners have won races this season, and all three have been named the American Southwest Conference's Runner of the Week.
The Patriots will be off this weekend and return to action September 30. The men will race at Oklahoma State, where they will face seven of the top twenty Division III schools in the competition.
