TYLER-- Four UT Tyler cross country runners have been named to the United States Track and Field-Cross Country Coaches Association's All-Region team the organization announced Tuesday. Three men's runners were named to the team, while national-qualifier Carly Kitts represents the ladies.
Two sophomores, Matthew Markert and Conner Benson finished out the season with strong performances at the Regional meet and the American Southwest Conference championship.
Markert led the team with a 23rd-place finish in Virginia last weekend, while Benson finished in 34th place.
Huff, a senior, finished his UT Tyler-career with his second ASC individual championship in-a-row while finishing 28th at the NCAA regional in Virginia.
The lone representative of the UT Tyler women's team was junior Carly Kitts. Kitts became the first Patriots' runner to qualify for the NCAA Division III championship meet by placing 10th at the regional meet last weekend.
Kitts also won the ASC championship meet in her first season with the Patriots.
