HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – Demarcus Metcalf scored a season-best 29 points and UT Tyler hit a program record 18 3-pointers as the Patriots earned a 102-78 win over Rust College on Saturday in the final road game of the season for the Patriots.

UT Tyler (12-11) would go 18-for-33 on 3-pointers which broke the previous game-high of 17 3-pointers back on Feb. 13, 2010 against Ozarks. Metcalf, who went 7-for-10 from beyond the arc, broke his career-high which he had on Thursday when he went for 27 at Belhaven. The Patriots swept the season series against Rust after also taking a 99-85 win at the Herrington Patriot Center in the third game of the season.

Ty Davis would add four 3-pointers to the UT Tyler total and finished with 14 points, while Latigo Collins had two 3-pointers and Melvin Anthony, Dyonne Luke, Tanner Hilton, Kreston Richardson and Joey Cuervo each had one 3-pointer in the win.

Anthony Gonzales, who leads UT Tyler with 16.3 points per game this season, didn’t hit a 3 but would finish with 12 points and had four assists.

UT Tyler will return to action at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday against Ozarks before playing its final game of the season at 3 p.m. on Saturday against Texas-Dallas at the Herrington Patriot Center.
