PRIOR TO UT TYLER: Played his freshman season at Stephen F. Austin where he appeared in eight games… Was an All-State selection as a senior and a four-time all-district selection at St. Anthony Catholic… Sanchez hit .398 as a senior and .408 during his junior seasons in high school to earn first-team all-district honors… Played for head coach Clint Samson where he was named the team’s MVP as a sophomore, junior and senior.

SOPHOMORE (2017): Sanchez made appearances in 20 games and stole 4 bases during his first season with the Patriots… In 10 at bats, he scored 9 runs and had 2 RBI’s… Went 2-for-3 with a run scored, RBI 2B, and a walk in a win over Howard Payne.

PERSONAL: Son of Enrique and Lorraine Sanchez. Has two siblings, Zach and Crystal Sanchez. His uncle, Anthony Rodriguez, played college baseball at Texas A&M.
