PRIOR TO UT TYLER: Transfers to UT Tyler after pitching at Tyler Junior College as a sophomore and at Panola Junior College as a freshman... Helped lead the Apaches to a JUCO World Series Championship in 2016 where he was an all-tournament selection... Pitched and graduated from Whitehouse High School where he was 13-0 during his varsity career... He was named the district's Pitcher of the Year in 2012 and 2013 and helped Whitehouse HS to the state semifinals in 2013 as a senior... Played for head coach Derrick Jenkins... Also played football and basketball at Whitehouse. 

JUNIOR (2017): Cheatham was a standout in his first season with the Patriots, pitching in 15 games and being elected to the D3Baseball All-Region team… He pitched 81 innings and recorded a team best 9-0 record with 52 strikeouts in 14 starts with an opponent batting average of .214… Was awarded ASC Pitcher of the Week after throwing a 2-hit shutout in a win over Northland College… His 3.33 ERA and 1-run complete game over Louisiana College in the ASC tournament landed him a spot on the All-Conference team and led the Patriots to an ASC Championship.

PERSONAL: Son of Roger and Theresa Cheatham. Has two siblings, Randy and Amanda.
