FRESHMAN (2016): Josh Burns hit .298 with 28 total hits that included six doubles, a triple and a grand slam at Sul Ross in his first season with the Patriots... Burns played 26 games in the outfield and finished the year with 16 RBI... He had two RBI against Pacific Lutheran in the NCAA regional tournament... He finished the regional with four hits, including going 2-for-4 against Trinity... Burns had seven multi-hit and four multi-RBI games in 2016 and helped the Patriots to the ASC Championship. 

PRIOR TO UT TYLER: Was a Class 4A All-State honorable mention selection at Center High School.. Earned first-team all-district all four years at Center for head coach David Sheppard... Also played football at CHS... Hit .430 and had 20 stolen bases as a senior.

PERSONAL: Son of John Michael and Holly Burns. Has three siblings, Luke, Jesse and Levi.
