AT UT TYLER

JUNIOR (2016): Recorded five multi-hit games and four multi-RBI performances in his first season with the Patriots... Finished the year with a .227 batting average that produced 15 RBI... Had 17 hits, including 16 singles and one double. 

PRIOR TO UT TYLER: Transfers to UT Tyler after starting his collegiate career with two seasons at Eastfield College... Helped Eastfield to two conference championships and was presented the Eastfield Presidential and Chancellor Award... Played and graduated from Dallas Christian School where he earned second-team all-state honors and was a first-team all-district selection.

PERSONAL: Son of Clay and Sheryl Smith. Father, Clay Smith, played professional baseball in the Texas Rangers organization from 1977-79. 

MAJOR: Kinesiology. Wants to pursue a career as a college baseball coach.

WHY UT TYLER:
