JACKSON, Miss. – The No.18-ranked UT Tyler baseball team dropped the follow-up to its win over defending national champions Trinity, losing to Berry College 4-2 on Saturday in the second of three games at the Belhaven/Millsaps Tournament.

Cody Brown (0-1) allowed seven hits and four runs in 5.2 innings in his first start as a Patriot. Evan Kissinger pitched 1.1 scoreless innings and Miles Thomas added two scoreless innings in relief.

Shortstop Tim Hunter went 0-for-1, but drew three walks and stole a base and Brady McCoy had a pinch-hit double as the Patriots could only muster four hits in the game. Designated hitter Daniel Williams also added an RBI single as he went 1-for-4 on the day.

The Patriots end their road trip on Sunday as they face Maryville College at before they come home next weekend to take part in the Clements Fluids Classic. The Patriots will host Trinity at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 in their Irwin Field opener before playing Mary Hardin-Baylor at 6 on Saturday, Feb. 18 and Centenary at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19.
