AWARD: Farris earns ASC Co-Hitter of the Week
UT Tyler junior Bowie Farris has earned his first American Southwest Conference Hitter of the Week honor after going 7-for-12 with seven RBIs to help lead the Patriots to a series win over UT Dallas last weekend at Irwin Field. Farris capped his weekend with a two-out, two-run home run to give the Patriots an 8-7 walk-off win in the finale. He was named Co-Hitter of the Week with Wesley Moss who had six hits for Sul Ross last weekend. Farris is the first Patriot this season to earn ASC Hitter of the Week honors, while Ryan Cheatham has earned two ASC Pitcher of the Week honors.

UT Tyler right-hander Cody Brown improved to 7-2 on the season after striking out eight and limiting East Texas Baptist to five hits in a seven-inning complete game Friday in Marshall (April 28). UT Tyler selected to host NCAA DIII West Baseball Regional
The University of Texas at Tyler has been selected to host the 2017 NCAA Division III West Regional Baseball Championship at Irwin Field. The six-team tournament will be played from May 18-22 with the winner advancing to the NCAA DIII College World Series at the Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wisconsin. The Patriots have advanced to six regional tournaments in program history, including the past two seasons. UT Tyler hosted the 2015 NCAA DIII West Regional before it was hosted in Spokane, Washington last season.

SPOTLIGHT: Buchhorn goes from manager to RBI machine
Trenton Buchhorn was washing uniforms, keeping stats and dragging the field before practice as a freshman and hitting fungo and throwing batting practice for the next two years. After a tryout at Tyler Junior College didn’t result in a roster spot, Buchhorn suddenly became a former player and could have abandoned baseball all together. Instead, he humbled himself and stayed involved in the game by working as a manager and a student coach.

The UT Tyler baseball team has been picked by 35 voters from around the American Southwest Conference to repeat as the league's 2014 champions. The Patriots received 33 of the possible 35 first-place votes.

Baseball Camps Set for Oct. 24 & Dec. 4
UT Tyler baseball coach Paul Wyczawski has announced that the Patriots will hold two skills camps for student-athletes at Irwin Field on the UT Tyler campus. The first camp is set for Oct. 24, and the second for Dec. 4.

The University of Texas at Tyler baseball team will host its 6th Annual Alumni Game at Irwin Field on Friday, Oct. 8. Open to all former players, coaches, managers and trainers, the alumni game will offer participants a chance to catch up with former teammates.

Juneau, Pirates Clinch First Place in KIT League
Justin Juneau, a junior at the Univeristy of Texas at Tyler, hit an RBI-triple in the 12th inning to drive in the tying run and then scored on a safety squeeze to win the game and clinch first place for the Tradewater Pirates.
